The Best Kentucky Hunting Guide

If there’s one thing many of our guests love, it’s hunting in the great outdoors. While the Grand Victorian Inn might not be the perfect hunting base from an aesthetic point of view, it has a centralized location to many of the best gun shops and hunting outfitters in the region. We’d love to help you get a lay of the land so you can hunt more efficiently once you arrive.

Kentucky Hunting License

Because you’re dealing with firearms and wildlife, having the correct hunting permit is essential. You don’t want a great afternoon of hunting to turn into a bureaucratic nightmare because you bagged one too many waterfowl. Here are the licenses you’ll need:

Hunting Fees

(Resident / Non-Resident)

1-Day Hunting: $7 / $25*

7-Day Hunting: Not Available for Residents / $65*

*Not valid for deer, elk, turkey, or bear.

Deer Hunting in Kentucky

If you’re wanting to hunt these magnificent mammals, you’ll have to enter the Elk Drawing by signing up with a $10 fee per entry. Those lucky enough to have their names drawn will need to pay an additional fee for the actual Elk Permit:

Check out the Kentucky Wildlife website to buy your permit and decide which one you’d like to purchase.
